Pedagogy of hope: global learning and the future of education

Global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate emergency campaigns and Black Lives Matter movements have recently posed challenges for educationalists about their role, particularly in relation to promoting positive visions of future. Development education global learning has a major contribution make within these agendas, if it brings into its practices ideas Paulo Freire his concept pedagogy hope. Hope can often be considered an idealistic utopian term, but is grounded real life issues challenges, then provide valuable approach issues. Recent examples UK initiative by UNESCO on Futures Education demonstrate ways which questions future that empowering all learners.
